The Government of Ghana has announced that H.E. Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, will undertake a three-day State Visit to Ghana from Wednesday, 1 April to Friday, 3 April 2026.

President Mnangagwa is expected to arrive at the Accra International Airport at 3:00 PM, where he will be received by President John Dramani Mahama with full military honours, including the inspection of a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces and a 21-gun salute.

In the evening, President Mahama will host a State Banquet in honour of President Mnangagwa to celebrate the longstanding friendship and bilateral relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe.

The highlight of the visit will be bilateral talks at the Peduase Lodge, beginning with a private tête-à-tête between the two leaders. Both Presidents will lead their delegations in in-depth discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in key areas such as trade, tourism, health, sanitation, agriculture, the fight against corruption, and strategies to tackle unemployment.

The talks will be followed by the signing and exchange of Memoranda of Understanding covering areas of mutual interest.

During his visit, President Mnangagwa will tour the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre (SGMC) and the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant, where he will be briefed on Ghana’s advancements in healthcare delivery and waste management technologies.

Additionally, the Zimbabwean leader will visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding father.

President Mnangagwa will depart Ghana on Friday, 3 April, with full departure honours at the Jubilee Lounge.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Spokesperson to the President and Minister of Government Communications, provided the details of the visit.
