Nine people have been confirmed dead in a tragic road accident at Sronoase in the Kintampo North Municipality on Friday, April 3, 2026.
The crash involved a collision between a passenger bus (GS 2564-20) and a Kia Rhino truck (GR 4958-K) loaded with provisions.
A total of 42 passengers were involved, with many trapped in the wreckage.
Seven people were confirmed dead at the scene, and two more died at the hospital, bringing the total death toll to nine.
A rescue team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly conducted extrication operations, rescuing 33 other victims.
The survivors were transported to Kintampo Municipal Hospital for medical care.
According to the Bono East GNFS, which led the rescue, the deceased were handed over to the police for preservation.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, the service stated.
