The destooled Amankrado of Boso, Kwame Oteng, has been granted bail by the Koforidua Circuit after being charged on numerous counts of defilement.
He appeared before the court on Friday, April 10, 2026, where the State formally presented the charges against him, however the accused reportedly pleaded not guilty to all counts.
In an attempt to quash the matter, the legal counsel filed an application seeking dismissal of the case, as the presiding judge ruled that there was sufficient evidence for trial to proceed.
Although the court initially remanded him into custody, he was subsequently granted bail in the sum of GH₵80,000 with one surety.
As proceedings progressed, Elder Kofi Ansah intervened and sought assistance from his uncle, Elder Nyarko, a resident of Koforidua, who offered his property as surety, thereby facilitating the release of the accused.
The case has been adjourned, with Kwame Oteng expected to reappear in court in coming weeks.
