The third national chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Osman Masawudu, has expressed dismay at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration over its management of the economy, describing its intellectuals as “sad.”
Speaking on Angel FM’s Y’adwumanie show on Thursday, April 16, 2026, he praised the NPP for implementing initiatives that, in his view, have consistently benefited Ghanaians throughout the Fourth Republic, contributing to the country’s long-term development and future betterment.
“Everything in Ghana here that the current generation and the future will benefit from, history tells us that it’s coming from the NPP, including Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme.
“In forth republic of this political future, the NPP has future for the good people of Ghana and NDC has no future,” he asserted.
His comments come amid allegations that some NDC political activists allegedly visited cocoa-growing areas to rally farmers against the NPP and encourage them to support the NDC instead.o
Mr. Osman Masawudu claimed that this propaganda contributed to their massive losses in cocoa and mining regions during the recent elections.
“If you look at all the cocoa sector areas, because of the lies and propaganda that the NDC spread to the cocoa farmers, the electorate voted against the NPP, and all MPs in those constituencies are gone,” he mentioned.
“It’s ridiculous and sad,” he said, pointing out that when the NDC came into office, they failed to implement their pre-election promises, including the reduction of the cocoa prices.
He also condemned President John Mahama’s approach to addressing the cocoa farmers’ issues with what he narrates as “jokes” rather than responsible communication.
