The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) and EQUIP Ghana have partnered to launch a leadership training program aimed at transforming the church and society.

Speaking at the training, the lead person for EQUIP Ghana, Bernard Quarm emphasized the need for a shift in the church’s approach to leadership.

Lead person for Equip Consult, Bernard Quarm

“The church has become more judgemental rather than accommodating.

“We must understand the place of humanity in spirituality and recognize the value of every human being. Leadership should be about helping people stand on their feet, not just commanding from the top,” Mr. Quarm stated on Wednesday, April 16, 2026 at Osu.

He said the training program, part of the Maxwell Enterprise’s EQUIP family, focuses on transformational leadership, aiming to bridge the gap between leaders and their followers.

Quarm stressed the importance of leaders being accessible and available to their followers, citing the need for a more practical and inclusive approach to leadership.

Koku Anyidoho, Politician and Founder of the Mills Institute, also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of mindset transformation in nation-building.

“The whole concept of politics is about nation-building… I’m a nation builder, working in any sphere God puts me, currently within the church space,” he said.

Mr. Anyidoho explained that his institute, Mills Institute, focuses on mindset, integrity, loyalty, leadership, and service, aligning with the training’s goals.

He added that “you must have a certain mindset, build integrity, be loyal to that integrity, and then transit into leadership, serving God, country, and others before self.”

General Secretary of the CCG, Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose expressed gratitude for the program, saying, “I wish that this programme had come about 25 years ago, so that we would have become better persons by now, but all the same, we’re grateful that it has still come on.

“Thank you very much once again, and I believe that by now, many of us who have been part of this workshop and training would become better persons. We will not die. We will live and grow and do the works of the Lord to the glory of the Lord.”

The partnership between EQUIP Ghana and CCG is expected to have a far-reaching impact, with trained leaders cascading the training to their members and communities.

The program’s goal is to empower leaders to create positive change and help people live meaningful lives.
