Ghana National Gas Ltd (Ghana Gas) and GRIDCo have announced a planned five-hour shutdown of the Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo for critical system restoration.
According to a statement issued by the companies, the shutdown, scheduled from midnight to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, is necessary to complete the replacement of the damaged Burner Management System (BMS) controller.
A major fault in the BMS caused complete damage to the controller, necessitating its full replacement. Enabling works for the BMS replacement are approximately 90% complete.
GRIDCo and Ghana Gas assure the public that technical and operational measures are in place to complete the works within the scheduled timeframe and minimize the shutdown’s impact on consumers.
They apologize for any inconvenience caused by the necessary exercise, reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a stable and reliable power supply.
