Tidal waves devastate Anloga, leaving hundreds displaced
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Relentless tidal waves have swept through over 100 communities in Anloga, Volta Region, destroying homes and displacing hundreds of residents.

The waves, which hit with little warning, have washed away properties and livelihoods, leaving many families without shelter or income.

Local authorities and emergency response teams have begun evacuation and relief operations, but resources are stretched thin.

Residents are calling for urgent government intervention, including long-term coastal protection measures, to prevent further devastation.

The Volta Regional Minister has assured residents of swift government action, citing previous interventions in affected communities.

The government is exploring measures to block the sea’s path and prevent further inland encroachment.

The situation is dire, with schools and health centres damaged, disrupting education and healthcare.
