Ghanaian sprinter, Benjamin Azamati has been forced to pull out of the upcoming Confédération Africaine d’Athlétisme (CAA) African Senior Athletics Championships after suffering a groin injury.
The continental event is set to run from Tuesday, May 12 to Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the University of Ghana sports stadium, Legon.
Azamati, a national record‑holder in sprinting, was widely expected to be a medal contender in the sprint events, making him one of the championships’ headline athletes.
His unexpected withdrawal has disappointed fans who were looking forward to his performance.
