Ghanaian musician, Wiyaala, is set to be honoured as a tourism ambassador for her role in promoting northern Ghanaian culture through music, fashion, and community initiatives.
The announcement was made by the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, during a working visit to the Upper West Region.
Madam Gomashie said the appointment recognizes Wiyaala’s outstanding efforts in showcasing the culture of northern Ghana on both local and international platforms.
During the visit, the Minister reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to preserving Ghana’s cultural heritage while preparing the next generation for the future.
She noted that raising children who are technologically adept and culturally grounded is essential for national development.
Madam Gomashie also emphasized that promoting tourism, culture, and creativity remains key to driving economic opportunities and fostering national unity.
She highlighted the importance of domestic tourism in strengthening local communities and creating livelihoods across the regions.
The ministry said Wiyaala’s work aligns with its goal of using Ghana’s creative industries and cultural assets to boost social cohesion and economic growth.
