The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department has announced that payment of arrears owed to affected education and health workers, dating back to August 2024, has commenced.
In a statement issued by the Department, the payments will be completed in accordance with an approved schedule running from May to August 2026.
According to the schedule, four months’ arrears will be paid each month:
– May: 4 months’ arrears
– June: 4 months’ arrears
– July: 4 months’ arrears
– August: 4 months’ arrears
CAGD indicated that the first tranche payment will be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.
It added that the remaining tranches will be paid in line with the approved schedule.
The statement, signed by Head of Public Relations Cephas N. Dosoo, thanked all affected beneficiaries for their patience and forbearance.
The announcement addresses longstanding arrears owed to workers in the education and health sectors since August 2024.
