A collision between a motorbike and a commercial vehicle claimed the life of the rider at Logba Akutsame in the Volta Region on Wednesday, May 28, 2026.
The crash, which occurred around 5:00 p.m., involved a Hyundai 14-seater commercial vehicle with registration number GL 118–13 and the motorbike.
Firefighters from the Kpando Municipal Fire Station responded swiftly to a distress call, rushed to the scene, and successfully rescued eleven passengers who were trapped inside the commercial vehicle.
Unfortunately, the motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was handed over to the Ghana Police Service for preservation and further investigations.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reiterated its call for motorists to strictly adhere to road safety regulations and exercise caution while driving to help reduce crashes and fatalities.
