Former Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah has admitted that he had no personal knowledge of what transpired between Chairman Wontumi and Henry Okum when the Samreboi concession was assigned to the latter.

He made the admission during cross-examination in court as the fourth defence witness in the ongoing trial.

The proceedings are part of the criminal case involving Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, two others, and the state.

In court on Monday, June 1, 2026, the cross-examination of the fourth defence witness, Mr. Okyere Darko Mensah, concluded.

During the proceedings, he told the court that he had no personal knowledge of what transpired when the Samreboi concession was assigned to Henry Okum.

The assignment of the concession forms the subject matter of the charges currently before the court in the case titled Republic v Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi & 2 Others (Samreboi Illegal Mining Case).

According to the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), the accused persons have filed a witness statement for a fifth defence witness, Evans Addae.
