The Black Stars drew 1-1 with Wales in Tuesday night’s international friendly to mark Carlos Queiroz’s first match as Ghana coach following his appointment.
The game saw both sides create goal-scoring opportunities, but their lack of productiveness in front of goal meant the first half ended goalless.
Caleb Yirenkyi broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, capitalizing on a rebound after his initial strike hit the woodwork. This came moments after the Welsh goalkeeper produced a point-blank save from Ernest Nuamah’s solo run into the box.
Carlos Queiroz’s men continued to press, troubling the Welsh defence in search of a second goal, but their efforts did not yield any results.
In stoppage time, Liverpool winger Lewis Koumas salvaged a point for Wales, connecting with a cross from the right to beat Benjamin Asare in goal.
With little time remaining, neither side was able to find a winner, and the match ended 1-1 at the Cardiff City Stadium.
