Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew believes the team will surprise the footballing community, especially Ghanaian supporters, at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He stated that the commitment, energy, and focus in camp, along with the coach’s impact, will make the difference at the tournament.
Ayew expressed these beliefs ahead of Ghana’s international friendly against Wales on Tuesday, June 1, 2026.
“We have a lot of new players and we just want to improve. We just want to go there and put on a show and represent Africa and Ghana the best we can.
“And I am confident that with the manager’s ideas and the boys’ commitment, I am sure that we will surprise people,” he added.
According to the former Leicester City attacker, the team’s preparations have taken significant shape heading into their fifth World Cup finals.
The Wales clash will be Ghana’s fourth pre-tournament friendly, having previously faced Austria, Germany, and Mexico – all of which they lost.
