Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang will officially launch the Revised Ghana National Cultural Policy on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the National Theatre in Accra.

The launch, scheduled for 10:00 am, was announced by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & Creative Arts in a statement.

According to the Ministry, the revised policy is a “significant milestone” in Ghana’s cultural development agenda.

It provides a renewed strategic framework for preserving, promoting, and harnessing the country’s cultural heritage as a catalyst for national development, social cohesion, economic growth, and creative innovation.

The policy has been reviewed and updated to align with contemporary national and global realities, including the growth of the creative economy, technological advancement, cultural tourism, youth empowerment, cultural education, and the safeguarding of Ghana’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

The Ministry says it seeks to position culture as a central pillar of sustainable development and nation-building.

The launch is expected to bring together government officials, traditional authorities, development partners, representatives of the creative and cultural industries, academia, civil society organizations, cultural practitioners, and members of the diplomatic community.
