The Director of Operations at the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS), Colonel Dominic Buah, has been replaced, Angelonline.com.gh can confirm.
Colonel S.K. Appiah replaced him and now takes over as the new Director of Operations for NAIMOS.
The Secretariat confirmed this development in a notice on its official Facebook page on Thursday, June 11, 2026, where it indicated that changes form part of efforts within the organisation to strengthen the fight against illegal mining in the country.
“Moments ago, Colonel Dominic Buah officially handed over to Colonel S.K. Appiah, who now takes over as the new Director of Operations for NAIMOS. The transition is part of routine strategic rotations to enhance operational efficiency,” NAIMOS’s notice stated.
This brings to an end weeks of reshuffling rumours within the Secretariat as part of the government’s fight to curb the illegal mining menace.
