The Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, Courage Kweku Makafui Nunekpeku, has described the Tema Integrated Industrial Park (TIIP) as a transformative initiative that will create jobs, attract investment, and accelerate Ghana’s industrialisation agenda.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony for the Tema Integrated Industrial Park, Mr. Nunekpeku said the project is the result of a strategic partnership between TDC Ghana Limited, the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC), and Arise Integrated Industrial Platform (Arise IIP).

According to him, the initiative is aimed at promoting value addition, boosting investment, creating employment opportunities, and driving sustainable economic growth.

He said the TIIP represents more than just another infrastructure project, describing it as a strategic foundation for Ghana’s industrial future and a model for the development of a much larger industrial enclave.

“Today marks the beginning of a transformative partnership between TDC Ghana Limited, GIADEC and Arise Integrated Industrial Platform to advance Ghana’s industrialisation agenda through value addition, investment promotion, job creation, and sustainable economic growth,” he said.

Mr. Nunekpeku commended President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to industrial transformation, stating that the project reflects the President’s vision of positioning Ghana as a leading industrial hub on the African continent.

He stressed that job creation remains at the heart of the initiative.

“Today’s groundbreaking event is a result of the relentless commitment and vision of the President to position Ghana on an industrial path which will ultimately create the much-needed jobs for our people and make Ghana an industrial hub in Africa,” he stated.

The TDC MD disclosed that the Tema Integrated Industrial Park will serve as a springboard for the development of a larger industrial park spanning about 11,000 acres.

He announced that negotiations and preparations to secure the land for the larger industrial project are far advanced.

“Preparations and negotiations are far advanced in acquiring 11,000 acres for a bigger industrial park after the development of this place,” he revealed.

Mr. Nunekpeku expressed optimism that the project would rapidly transform into a thriving industrial centre, saying the park is expected to be operational within a year and become a major source of employment and economic growth within two years.

“Within a year, we expect the project to be established as a thriving industrial hub, and within two years, it will serve as a beacon of employment and economic growth,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to bringing the project to fruition and singled out Randolph Chumashi for his dedication and resilience in ensuring the success of the initiative.

Mr. Nunekpeku concluded by expressing confidence that the Tema Integrated Industrial Park would soon be populated with industries, reinforcing its role in transforming Ghana’s industrial landscape and creating sustainable jobs for Ghanaians.
