Musician Mzbel alleged that the ‘no bed syndrome’ at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has contributed to the passing of her sister.
In an emotional live video shared on her Facebook page, Mzbel said her sister was rushed to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in need of urgent medical attention but could not be admitted because there was no bed available.
The singer expressed frustration over what she described as a long-standing problem at the hospital, questioning whether authorities genuinely care about the welfare of Ghanaians.
“Do the government care about us? The people we vote for, do they care about us? Since childhood, there is no bed in Korle Bu. There’s always no bed in Korle Bu and people die,” Mzbel said.
She further questioned the recurring reports of patients allegedly being unable to access timely care due to bed shortages.
“What is the problem at Korle Bu that people keep dying?” she asked.
