The United Party (UP) has expressed optimistic that the newly enstooled 15th Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Bonsu, will complement ongoing efforts to empower women and youth throughout Ghana and beyond.
In a statement signed by its Communication Director, Solomon Owusu, the party described Nana Ama Bonsu as “an accomplished educationist” and said her background aligns with UP’s core objective of transforming Ghana through human resource development.
“As a political party, we prioritise empowering the country’s human resources through diverse educational strategies,” the statement said.
The UP also congratulated Asanteman and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on the enstoolment, noting that the party believes in the ideals of good governance long championed by the Manhyia Palace.
The party said it received the announcement of Nana Ama Bonsu with “great joy and hope” and wished Asanteman, Otumfuo, and the new Asantehemaa the best in their endeavours.
Nana Ama Bonsu succeeds the late Nana Konadu Yiadom III as Asantehemaa, the Queen Mother of the Asante Kingdom.
