One person has reportedly sustained injuries in a road traffic accident at Omenako on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on July 7, 2026.

According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the accident involved a Kia Rhino truck that was carrying animal feed at the time of the incident.

It said the vehicle veered off the road after the driver reportedly lost control while attempting to avoid an unknown fuel tanker that was wrongfully overtaking.

Firefighters from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded promptly and rushed to the scene to provide emergency assistance.

A thorough search conducted at the scene confirmed that no occupant was trapped. However, one person sustained injuries, while the vehicle and part of its cargo were damaged.

The firefighters secured the scene and ensured it was safe for other road users.
