Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Akosua Agyapong has dismissed comparisons between herself and her sister, Stephanie Benson, saying the two have carved out successful careers in different spaces and should not be measured against each other.
Speaking in an interview, Akosua Agyapong said she is unbothered by people who compare them, stressing that everyone has a unique journey and purpose.
“I don’t care. We are not the same. All fingers are not the same,” she said.
The celebrated musician explained that while she enjoys widespread recognition in Ghana, her sister has built a strong fan base overseas, making both of them successful in their respective fields.
“When you’re in Ghana, I’m famous, and when you go abroad, she’s famous. I have my fans here in Ghana, just as she has her fans overseas. I’m proud of her,” she stated.
Akosua Agyapong went on to describe Stephanie Benson as a resilient and kind-hearted person, expressing gratitude for her sister’s achievements.
“She’s a sweet person and a strong woman. If she’s doing well, I thank God, and I’m grateful for that. When you travel abroad, you’ll see she has her own audience, just as I have mine here in Ghana,” she added.
