Parts of Northern Ghana are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rains, and strong winds from this morning into the afternoon.
A band of thunder and rain clouds is currently moving westwards across the Northern sector and is expected to bring rain of varying intensities to the Upper East, Upper West, North East, portions of the Savannah Region, and the Northern Region.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) said the weather system could also produce gusty winds and reduced visibility.
In a weather alert, GMet advised the public to seek shelter during the storms. Motorists have been urged to reduce speed, keep headlights on, and exercise caution on flood-prone roads.
Farmers and traders are encouraged to secure crops, goods, and temporary structures. The public is also advised to stay away from trees and weak structures during periods of strong wind.
