The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) has commenced a nationwide rollout of nutrition training for caterers and cooks serving beneficiary pupils of the programme.
The training exercises were part of the World Bank’s support for GSFP to equip its service providers (caterers) with the requisite skills in providing nutritious, safe, and quality meals to beneficiary pupils.
The GSFP’s National Coordinator, Hajia Fati Forgor, who monitored the rollout of the project in Kumasi on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, expressed her satisfaction with the overall arrangement and the level of knowledge being acquired by the trainees.
She urged the caterers to take the training seriously and ensure that they bring the skills gained from the training to bear on the quality of meals they serve.
She commended them for availing themselves of the training, their “commitment, zeal and enthusiasm” to learn new trends in standard cooking
Madam Fati Forgor further lauded the World Bank for their support and vowed that her outfit would ensure that the children benefit from the training by enjoying nutritious meals to improve their health status.
