Former Dome-Kwabena Member of Parliament (MP), Sarah Adwoa Safo, Esq., has publicly conceded and affirmed her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena, as the leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a formal statement, she reaffirmed her commitment to family unity, reconciliation, and the preservation of the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo.
She emphasized the need for the family to rise above past differences and to transcend whatever differences, misunderstandings or grievances that may have characterised the immediate aftermath of the demise of our dear dad and consign them to history.
“I have chosen the path of conciliation, founded upon love, mutual respect and the enduring undisputed bonds of family.
“I have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
“He has my full support, and I state unequivocally that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,” Madam Safo expressed.
She further underscored that their father’s legacy, which is a collective inheritance, deserves equal preservation.
“Our father’s legacy transcends any one individual. It is a collective inheritance and a profound responsibility entrusted to us, as his children, and it is a charge we must keep and hold on to dearly. We must therefore rise above our differences, preserve what he built and ensure that his ideals continue to inspire generations to come.”
The former Gender Minister under the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration called for unity among church members and the wider Kantanka family.
“I encourage all members of the Kristo Asafo Church and the larger Kantanka family and everyone associated with our father’s work whilst he was alive to acknowledge and respect the unity of the family. Let us embrace this new chapter with reconciliation, fraternity and a shared sense of purpose.”
Madam Safo also extended her sincere goodwill and best wishes to her other siblings on this renewed journey of peace and forgiveness.
“May this new chapter bring healing, unity and renewed strength as we come together to honour and advance the legacy of our beloved father.”
