The Deputy Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission, Stephen Yeboah, has reiterated that the Commission is poised and committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the youth in society.
According to him, the Commission is positioning itself to tackle issues related to illicit drug abuse among the youth, which triggers most of the violent extremist acts in society.
Mr. Yeboah gave these assurance when he gave a keynote address at a National Dialogue event organised by the National Commission for Civic Education held in Accra on Wednesday, 7, October 2026.
The event was held on the theme “Sustaining Post-Election Peace and Strengthening Community Resilience Against Emerging Security Threats in Southern Border Communities of Ghana”
He appealed to key stakeholders in society, mainly traditional leaders, to ensure that youth are mentored and guided in a proper upbringing.
Mr Yeboah called for sustainable community partnerships to enable bridge and enhance coexistence among families in society.
He added that this will help curb nefarious activities perpetrated by some recalcitrant members of society.
