The General Manager of Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), Nana Odei Asare, has apologised to listeners, viewers and clients for the temporary interruption in the network’s transmission.
Speaking on Angel FM’s ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ’ on Friday, October 23, Mr. Asare, on behalf of the company’s founder, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, thanked stakeholders for their patience and support during the challenging period.
“I stand here on behalf of our founder, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, to express our sincere appreciation. Secondly, I want to thank God. In spite of all that has happened, we are filled with gratitude,” he said.
He explained that the break provided management with the opportunity to repair and upgrade some of its machines and equipment to improve broadcasting operations.
According to him, obsolete equipment has been replaced, while others requiring repairs have been worked on to enhance broadcast quality.
“Do you know that after this happened, it paved the way for us to work on our machines and equipment? The ones that needed to be changed have been changed. The ones that needed to be worked on have been worked on,” he stated.
Mr. Asare said the decision to play only music on air over the past week was part of efforts to test the equipment and assess improvements in broadcast quality.
He noted that the changes were necessary to ensure the smooth running of the organisation’s operations and to better serve listeners and viewers.
He announced that full operations will resume on Monday, October 26, 2026, urging listeners and viewers to look forward to the comeback of ABN in Accra with improved quality.
Meanwhile, Mr. Asare announced a 50 per cent discount on advertising packages for both existing and prospective clients from now until the end of the year.
“What our Marketing Manager, Samuel Owusu Adjei (Kofi Odiasempa) said is true. From now until the end of the year, any client who brings a product for advertisement will get a 50% discount. Both old and new clients,” he added.
He said the initiative is part of efforts to appreciate clients and encourage businesses to advertise on the network.
The General Manager also expressed appreciation to workers of the organisation, including presenters, technicians, reporters, producers and interns, for their commitment during the challenging period.
He assured the public that management is committed to putting the necessary measures in place to ensure that the organisation continues to serve its listeners and viewers effectively.
