The Foklex Media Production has commended Prince Kwaw Gyimah, host of Oman Nkosuo on OWASS FM, and the station’s morning show production team for their professionalism during the incident in which veteran Ghanaian actor Kwame Dzokoto collapsed at the station’s studios.
In a statement, the awards scheme said the team demonstrated that journalism is not only about breaking news and attracting attention but also about acting responsibly, especially during sensitive moments.
It noted that while some media practitioners might have chosen to stream the incident live on Facebook to attract more views, Prince Kwaw Gyimah and his production team handled the situation professionally and showed respect for the actor.
The Board Chairman, Dr. Atta Dabone Snr and the entire Foklex Media Awards team commended them for their conduct, saying their actions reflected the values of responsible journalism and the standards expected of media professionals.
The awards scheme also encouraged other media practitioners to learn from the team’s example by putting professionalism, responsibility and respect for human dignity first in their work.
