The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ekumfi, Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has called for peace, unity and sportsmanship as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) holds its constituency elections today, Saturday, October 24, 2026.
In a message to party members in the constituency, Dr. Kwainoe urged aspirants and delegates to conduct themselves with maturity and to put the interest of the party above individual ambitions.
He extended his best wishes to all candidates contesting in the elections and described the exercise as a family contest that should strengthen the party’s base.

“As we stand on the threshold of tomorrow’s elections, I wish to convey my warmest regards and sincere encouragement to every candidate. It is my firm conviction that we must approach this process with deep maturity. Our collective responsibility to build a stronger, more resilient, and unified NDC must remain our guiding star — a priority that must always supersede any individual ambitions,” he said.

Dr. Kwainoe appealed for mutual respect among candidates, acceptance of the outcome in good faith, and a renewed commitment to grassroots cohesion after the polls.
According to him, the success of the elections will not only be determined by who wins but by the party’s ability to remain united after the results are declared.

He further cautioned against actions and rhetoric that could create division within the party and expressed confidence that the Ekumfi NDC would set a positive example for internal democracy.
The NDC constituency elections are being held across the country today and tomorrow to elect new constituency executives as part of the party’s reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
