Some delegates have been arrested by police at the Bimbilla Constituency election centre for allegedly taking photos of their ballot papers during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency elections.
The arrests sparked agitation at the voting centre after security officers intervened to prevent delegates from photographing their votes.
The incident happened as delegates were voting to elect new constituency executives for the party, raising concerns over calm at the centre.
In Bimbilla, a total of 60 aspirants are vying for 17 executive positions, with 1,764 delegates expected to cast their ballots.
The Bimbilla election is part of the NDC’s nationwide constituency elections slated for October 24 and 25, 2026, across all 276 constituencies.
