Some aggrieved delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency in the Ashanti Region have invoked curses on persons allegedly involved in the manipulation of the party’s delegates album.
The delegates poured libation, slaughtered a sheep and invoked the Antoa Nyamaa deity and other river gods to strike dead anyone found culpable if the anomaly is not corrected.
The action follows allegations that names of qualified delegates have been removed from the album and replaced with unqualified persons to favour certain candidates in the upcoming constituency elections.
The aggrieved delegates say the alleged manipulation undermines their years of sacrifice for the party and have demanded immediate rectification.
“We have suffered for this party, and we will not allow anyone to cheat us. We are calling on Antoa to strike anyone who has a hand in this album manipulation,” one delegate said.
The incident has heightened tension in the constituency, with calls for calm and a swift intervention by the party leadership to ensure transparency and fairness.
Party leadership is yet to officially respond to the allegations.
