Presidency dismisses pardon reports

The Office of the President has refuted reports suggesting that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has granted presidential pardons to certain individuals.

A statement issued on January 6, 2025, the Communications Directorate, led by Director of Communications Eugene Arhin, made it clear that no such pardons have been issued. The statement emphasized that any circulating claims are false and should be disregarded by the public.

“We wish to categorically state that these assertions are inaccurate, and no pardon has been granted by President Akufo-Addo,” the statement read.

The statement also urged the public to rely solely on official communications from the Office of the President to avoid misinformation.
