Post-match violence at Nsoatre: GFA boss Kurt Okraku must be arrested – Solomon Owusu
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Solomon Owusu of the Movement for Change has questioned why Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Edwin Simon Kurt Okraku, remains free following the post-match violence at Nsoatre.

Mr. Owusu expressed disappointment in the Ghana Police Service for not arresting the GFA boss, arguing that he should be behind bars for leadership failures regarding security at match venues.

“I’m very surprised that Kurt Okraku has not been arrested as of this morning. He should be behind bars. Security is the responsibility of the GFA, so if someone loses their life at a league venue, the GFA must be held accountable.

Apart from arresting members of Nsoatreman FC, the [GFA boss] should be arrested first,” he stated.

He suggested that Mr. Okraku should consider stepping down, as he has failed to prioritize security in Ghanaian football.

“…But in this country, we don’t feel ashamed when we fail in our duties. Kurt Okraku should have stepped down by now,” he added.

Solomon Owusu further argued that the GFA boss’s poor leadership has significantly contributed to the decline of football in the country.
