Angelonline.com.gh has learned that Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is in good condition following concerns over her recent health.
According to reports from a former employee of the Vice President, she is doing very well.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang was said to have sought medical attention abroad based on recommendations after she fell ill on Friday, March 28, 2025. She had been receiving treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
This announcement was contained in a statement from the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on Sunday, March 30.
In her goodwill message to the Muslim community on their Eid Mubarak celebration, she thanked Ghanaians for their kindness and support.
“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she said in a March 31 statement for the first time after her health conditions.
The statement, however, did not comment on her health condition.
Meanwhile, a former deputy spokesperson for the Vice President during her time as running mate to President John Mahama in the 2024 election campaign has provided an update on her current status.
Eric Adjei, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), made this known in a post on his Facebook wall.
“Our mother, the Vice President, is in good health, thanks to God’s grace. I’ve received updates from the team, and Mum is doing very well by His grace,” he wrote, alongside a photo of himself and the Vice President.
A separate post also had the inscription “Mummy solid.”
