The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Koduah, has cautioned party members against making premature or speculative public comments regarding the contents of the recently submitted report.

According to him, members should refrain from hastily making statements that may not be accurate or are not contained in the report, and avoid assumptions and accusations that could misrepresent its findings.

Addressing the media after the National Council accepted the report at the Alisa Hotel in Accra yesterday, Justin Frimpong Koduah stated, “There are several steps we need to take as a party. We need to sit down and deliberate on the report.”

The Oquaye Committee was tasked with investigating the reasons behind the party’s loss of the presidency to the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s John Dramani Mahama, as well as the significant reduction in its parliamentary seats—losing 50 seats and its majority in the process.

Koduah added that although the report had just been received, the party would, in due course, communicate its contents and recommendations to the grassroots and the general public.

“We’re yet to go into the details of the report. In the coming days, whatever we need to communicate to our people, we will do so as part of efforts to rebuild trust and restructure the party ahead of future elections,” he assured.

He also noted that the NPP leadership would embark on a nationwide tour to engage with supporters and share insights from the report.
