Rescuers from the Akropong Fire Station successfully saved three accident victims on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Adukrom Waterworks Junction in the Eastern Region.
A statement from the Public Relations Unit of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Eastern Region, indicated that a Nissan Isuzu truck reportedly veered into a ditch following a suspected brake failure.
According to the GNFS, the vehicle, with registration number GS 746-17, was transporting foodstuffs and beverages at the time of the incident.
The Service explained that after receiving a distress call at around 1:28 p.m., a rescue team led by ADO I Gilbert Amoako was dispatched and arrived on scene by 1:39 p.m. Their swift intervention led to the rescue of “three people trapped” in the vehicle.
The GNFS added that after the rescue, the matter was handed over to the Akropong Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) for further investigation, while the injured victims were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
