The Ghana Police Service has disclosed that calm has been restored to Sampa in the Bono Region following violent incidents linked to alleged chieftaincy disturbances.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, reportedly left one person dead and several others injured.
In a statement, the Police announced that a swift response by the hierarchy led to the deployment of a reinforcement team to the area to restore calm.
“The Inspector-General of Police has deployed reinforcement teams to Sampa, in the Bono Region following violent chieftaincy disturbances in the town on 10th September, 2025 which resulted in the death of one person and injuries to some others.
“The Police have since restored calm, beefed up security and intensified patrols within Sampa and surrounding communities,” the police stated.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the violent clash and to find a resolution to the matter to prevent future incidents.
