The death toll from the collapsed building at Avenor in North Kaneshie has risen to three after one more person succumbed to injuries sustained from the incident.

According to reports, the latest casualty is one of the two survivors who were rescued from the rubble and rushed to the hospital, bringing the total death toll to three.

Four people in total were caught in the collapsed building in the early hours of Sunday, June 7, 2026, following heavy rain. Two victims were retrieved alive and taken to the hospital, while two others were found dead.

The Avenor building collapse is the second structure to be affected in Greater Accra within a week, following a previous incident at Adenta New Site on June 3, which resulted in one death and four injuries.
