A building has collapsed at Avenor on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Melcom Plus Area in Accra, amid the early morning heavy rain.
Two victims have been rescued and rushed to the hospital, while others are feared trapped beneath the rubble.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), rescuers remain on the scene working to rescue all trapped victims in an ongoing operation.
“Fire Service Rescuers from Circle Fire Station and Headquarters are at the scene conducting search and rescue.
“2 victims have been rescued and rushed to the hospital. A few others are feared trapped under the rubble. GNFS rescuers remain at the scene to rescue all trapped victims,” the GNFS said.
At the time of filing this report, an earth-moving machine, along with other necessary equipment, has arrived to assist the rescue team.
