Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has announced that the government has approved the rehabilitation of roads within Achimota School as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and preserve the legacy of the century-old institution.

He made the announcement during the Fundraising Dinner, Fashion Gala and launch of the Achimota Centenary Cloth, held to mark 100 years of the school’s contribution to education and national development.

Speaking on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Debrah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with Achimota School and the Old Achimotan Association to address key infrastructure needs and protect the school’s lands for future generations.

“I was also pleased to announce that approval has been granted for works to improve the road network within the school, alongside other interventions aimed at strengthening the learning environment and preserving the proud legacy of this great institution,” he said.

Describing the event as nostalgic and inspiring, Mr. Debrah, an Old Achimotan himself, said Achimota School has produced generations of leaders, innovators, professionals, creatives and public servants who have made significant contributions to Ghana, Africa and the world.

He noted that the school’s centenary celebration was a reminder that Achimota is more than an educational institution, but a symbol of excellence, discipline, leadership and service.

Mr. Debrah called on Old Achimotans and other stakeholders to continue supporting the school’s development, stressing that the future of Achimota depends on the commitment, generosity and active involvement of all who cherish the Black and Gold tradition.

He urged the Achimota community to work together to protect the school’s legacy, strengthen its institutions and inspire future generations.
