The Western Regional Minister, Kobby Okyere Darko-Mensah has described as ‘fake’ reports that the lady who was reported to have been kidnapped in the Western Regional Capital, Takoradi was pregnant.

Speaking on Angel FM’s Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ, the Regional Minister said security briefing he received show that the said lady was not pregnant as was widely reported.

“From the BNI’s preliminary investigations they said this whole story was fake and the medical doctor who took care of her said she wasn’t pregnant,” he revealed.

Madam Josephine Panyin Mensah [Kidnapped woman] was reported found on Tuesday, September 21.

Reports had indicated that she was been forced into labour but the Minister disputed the nine-month pregnancy of the victim.

He told Kofi Adomah Nwanwani that a preliminary investigation conducted on the supposed missing but found “pregnant woman” reveals she wasn’t pregnant.

Mr. Darko-Mensah opined that the medical officer who examined Josephine when she was found at the Axim Government Hospital told him that the 28-year-old was never pregnant as it has been widely publicised.

Husband reacts

The claim of the Minister shocked the husband of Josephine, Edward Simons, who insisted on the show his wife was pregnant for nine months, two weeks as at the time she was kidnapped.

To him, the claim of the Minister leaves much to be desired.
