Akufo-Addo fires Charles Adu Boahen after ‘Galamsey Economy’ exposé

The appointment of the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen, has been terminated with immediate effect, the Director of Communications at the Presidency has announced.

According to Eugene Arhin, the Communication Director, President Akufo-Addo took the decision after speaking to the Minister following allegations levelled against the government representative in Tiger Eye PI’s latest expose “Galamsey Economy”.

“After being made aware of the allegations levelled against the Minister in the expose “Galamsey Economy” the President spoke to Mr Adu Boahen, after which he took the decision to terminate his appointment, and also to refer the matter to the Special Prosecutor for further investigations.”
