CAF President arrives in Ghana for two day visit

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Dr. Patrice Tihopane Motsepe has arrived in Ghana for a visit.

The CAF President will be a Special Guest at the Youth connects Programme – an initiative of the ruling government.

The South African businessman will also meet President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Accra Wednesday evening to have a dialogue on how to transform the African Youth and policies programmes for the development of African Football.

He will also meet the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, and other stakeholders of the game, such as GFA Executive Council Members, Corporate Ghana, past and present football administrators and the Media at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

Dr. Patrice Motsepe will join GFA entourage to witness a donation ceremony at the Dworwulu Special School.

“I feel honored to be in Ghana to participate in this year’s Youth Summit and also to meet the football community. I feel very proud of Ghana and your achievement as a country” the CAF president said.

This becomes Dr. Patrice Motsepe’s first visit to Ghana after elected into office as CAF president in March 2021.

He took over from Ahmad Ahmad who was banned two years by FIFA for abusing his position and fined 50,000 Swiss francs (nearly $53,440), after he was found guilty of offering and accepting gifts and other benefits, that became an abuses of position and misappropriation of funds.
