Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan Constituency in the Western Region, Joe Ghartey, is demanding from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, an update on the state of work on the Essipon Stadium in his constituency.

The call on the Ministry to provide him with the information arises out of comments Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta made regarding the stage of completion of work on the sports stadium on November 17, 2021.

According to Ken Ofori Atta during his 2022 Budget reading in Parliament, the rehabilitation works on the Essipon stadium was 90% completed.

However, the MP in his letter to the Ministry of Youth and Sports discounted the claim saying that his checks reveal otherwise, hence the request for update on the project.

“As Member of Parliament for the area, I would be grateful if you could furnish me with the update of the said project which is located in my constituency” the letter stated in part.

“if the information given is inaccurate, please furnish the Finance Minister with the accurate information to enable him to advise himself accordingly. The project is of great interest to me and my constituents” Mr. Joe Ghartey noted.
