The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party, Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has issued a stern warning that billboards of aspirants targeting various executive positions in the party especially, the keenly contested chairmanship post, would be pulled down at their own cost.

The caution follows a directive   from the leadership of the NPP for all campaign billboards mounted close to the venue of the conference and within the greater Kumasi area to be removed as the party readies itself for their National Delegates Conference.

Persons seeking to contest key positions in the party have erected giant billboards and banners close to some principal streets and interactions within the Kumasi enclave in anticipation of the conference scheduled for Saturday, December 18, to Monday December 20, 2021.

However, in a December 10, statement signed by the communications’ director, the NPP banned the display of paraphernalia and advocacy for individual aspirants at the upcoming conference.

Following this directive some prospective aspirants such as Odeneho Kwaku Appiah and a host of others have obliged while others are yet to comply with the directive.

It is on this note that the Communications Director, Buaben Asamoa, while speaking on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ breakfast show has said that yet-to-be- removed billboards of aspirants would be pulled down billed against the owners’ name.

He disclosed that the MMDCEs have gone into agreement with the advertising agencies to remove the billboards and remaining banners and the cost would be borne by the individual aspirants and not the party.

He argued further that the colours and logos being used on the said billboards belong to the party implying that the party has a stake in what the aspirants put out given that they are hoping to lead the NPP.

The party communicator also informed Kofi Adoma Nwanwani that the party does not despise anyone however, whatever directive has been issued is aimed at the general good of the party.

Mr. Buaben Asamoa noted that the conference is not the appropriate venue to begin such campaigns but when the time is due, the party would not stand in anyone’s way.
