A two-month-old baby has been butchered by an unknown assailant at Anwiankwanta in the Bekwai Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident, according to reports, occurred on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at about 1 am.
The infant’s mother, according to the report, realised her child was missing when she woke from sleep and did not find the baby by her side.
Madam Ohenewaa later heard the baby’s scream on the balcony and rushed to see what had happened, only for her to find the baby in a pool of blood with the intestines protruding out of the body.
According to a neighbour, the suspect stabbed the baby with a cutlass leading to its death.
In an interview with Angel TV, the Assembly Member of Anwiankwanta Electoral Area, Frank Awuah, said police have arrested two suspects in relation to the crime: mother and father of the baby.
The police have since taken the lifeless body of the baby to the morgue for autopsy and have commenced investigations into the case.
