Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko goal poacher, Frank Mbella Etouga, has asked supporters of the club to stay calm and rally their support behind the team amid their poor run of form.

According to the Cameroonian International, although the Porcupine Warriors are going through difficult times, the club will never go down beyond their status.

The Reds have gone 7 games without a win with pressure mounting on the head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, and the players.

Speaking in an interview with the club’s website, Mbella called on the fans to stay calm and challenged his former teammates to take up the responsibility and work harder to get back to the winning days.

“I have been monitoring what is happening in Kotoko, even though I am not there, but I still follow the club every week when they play, and I can see that they are going through a difficult situation, but I want to encourage my former teammates to take responsibility and make things better,” he said.

The 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League winner added that such low levels happen once in a while in football, but he believes his former club will redeem their image.

“The situation now normally happens because this is football. And sometimes it can be good, but now is a bad time, so I just want all the supporters to stay calm, and I beg them not to neglect the team because this team is one of the best in Africa, and it will never, ever go down,” Mbella added.

The forward who was the fans’ favorite following his stellar performance with the Kumasi-based club scored 21 times.
