Deputy Director of Elections and Information Technology for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, has said that former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, is winning by 54% in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

According to Dr. Rashid Tanko, NDC is really doing well in their campaign and therefore the flagbearer of the party is winning this year`s election. He stated that Ghanaians are looking at their living conditions to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) due to their poor governance.

During a zoom interview with Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante on the Angel TV “Yen Man Ghana” program on Saturday, November 23, 2024, Dr. Rashid Tanko explained that the living condition in Ghana under the ruling political party (NPP) is very challenging, and this has made Ghanaians accept the NDC`s campaign for this year’s election.

“Things are really going well in the NDC`s campaign, and John Mahama is winning by 54% in this year`s elections,” Dr. Rashid Tanko said.

Dr. Rashid Tanko stated that Ghanaians will vote for the NDC due to their policies; however, the 24-hour economy policy alone will reduce the hardship that Ghanaians are going through under the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo`s government.

According to him, the 24-hour economy is the topmost of their policies, which will create a lot of jobs that will eliminate unemployment in the country; however, they are going to run the industrial sector and the government services in the 24-hour economy policy.

He further argued that most of the projects that have been commissioned under the NPP government have been abandoned and are left uncompleted. “The NPP government has commissioned more projects but are left abandoned; Flower Pot interchange and Bank of Ghana are not completed; hence, they went to commission them, and if they worked under 24 hours by now, they would have completed all the projects, and Ghanaians are just looking at them,” he opined.

When concluding his submission, he added that Dr. Bawumia and the NPP are sharing bundles of money on the campaign ground. According to him, they are only spending Ghana`s money on their campaign, however, bundles of money were laid on the table in their campaign trail. He stated that during the 2020 general election, it was Covid money they used to finance their campaign.

“Money that they have stolen is what they are sharing; go and ask the NPP; they are sharing money in their campaign trail; bundles of money were laid on the table,” he added.
