MP for Atiwa East, Abena Osei-Asare casts her vote

The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa East in the Eastern Region, Abena Osei-Asare, has cast her vote to exercise her franchise in the ongoing national election.

The MP, who is seeking re-election, cast her vote at the Atiwa Presbyterian Church, Ayigbe Town Polling Station around 2:30 PM.

She is contesting against two other parliamentary hopefuls – Kenneth Agyare of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Independent Candidate Nana Adjei Kyerema.

At the Atiwa Presbyterian Church, Ayigbe Town Polling Station, 494 people are expected to vote from 16 electoral areas, which consist 81 polling stations.

Meanwhile, a total of 40,022 registered voters are participating in the constituency’s electoral process.

An attempt to speak with her after casting her vote was unsuccessful, as she stated that she was not granting interviews at the moment.

Madam Abena Osei-Asare has been a parliamentarian for 12 years, having first been elected in the 2012 general elections on her initial attempt.
