The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Atiwa East in the Eastern Region, Abena Osei-Asare, has secured her fourth consecutive term in office in the recently concluded 2024 Parliamentary Elections.

Her victory was confirmed on Sunday, December 8, following her re-election by voters in the constituency who overwhelmingly endorsed her through the voting process on Saturday, December 7.

Madam Osei-Asare garnered 17,501 votes, representing 66.38% of the total 26,364 votes cast.

Her closest contender, Lawyer Kenneth Agyare of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), obtained 5,334 votes, representing 20.23%, while the Independent Candidate, Nana Adjei Kyerema, secured 3,286 votes.

However, 243 votes were classified as rejected ballots after the counting process.

With this re-election, Madam Abena Osei-Asare will represent the Atiwa East constituency in the 9th Parliament for a fourth consecutive term (2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024).

In a brief remark after her victory was announced by Electoral Commission (EC) officials, Madam Osei-Asare thanked party executives and constituents for supporting her re-election.
