Political commentator, Akwasi Addai Odike has called on supporters and appointees of the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to know that their administration will be limited to just one term in office they fail to things right.

He warned that the NDC must ensure that it minimizes the mistakes that would mar their administration.

Discussing the post-inauguration Government Transition Team on the Angel Morning Show, Odike stated that the president-elect should avoid running a “winner-takes-all” government if it wants to succeed.

He believes such an approach can potentially breed corruption, mismanagement, and favoritism, among other issues.

“Mahama should set an example that when you are voted into power, you are required to serve the people, not the other way around, using your position to loot the country,” he said.

Odike pointed out that the haircut implementation, the significant amount of money which the state lost due to rampant corruption in the NPP government should be something that the NDC government should avoid.

“Mr. Mahama, I warn you that if you mistakenly repeat the normal business of running a ‘winner-takes-all’ government, mark today’s date, I can tell you that the NDC will serve only one term,” he said.

According to the vocal politician, his observation stems from the election outcome, which outcome suggests that Ghanaians want change.

Odike advised Mahama to prioritize the welfare of the country and focus on meeting the demands of the Ghanaian people, as he was voted into power to liberate the nation from the hardships caused by the NPP.
